As I reflect on the past decade, with the last three etched in my memory as a particularly traumatic flare, I feel compelled to share the music of Ren – a Welsh singer, songwriter, musician, rapper, and director based in Brighton. Ren has not only emerged as a trailblazing artist in the music industry but also as a powerful voice for the unheard struggles of patients like me. Diagnosed with Lyme disease after battling misdiagnoses of depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, Ren's experience echoes the challenges faced by many M.E. patients. I first came across Ren in 2017 when he and his song ‘Patience’ featured in the powerful award-winning documentary about M.E. titled ‘Unrest’. The lyrics became a source of strength during my darkest moments, echoing t
