The Discovery of NorwayThere was a king named Fornjot who ruled over a country called Finland or Kvenland, situated east of the bottom of a sea bay extending towards Gandvik; this area is referred to as Helsingboten. Fornjot had three sons: Le, also known as Æge; Loge; and Kåre. Kåre was the father of Froste, who, in turn, was the father of Sne the old. Sne's son was named Torre, who had two sons: Nord and Gor. Torre was known for his great sacrifices, particularly the annual Torreblot held in the middle of winter, after which the month was named. During one such Torreblot in spring, Torre's daughter Goe went missing.Despite their efforts, Goe could not be found. After a month passed, Torre allowed the blót to continue, now called Goeblót, to uncover her fate, yet nothing was discovered.
