The Lion and the Mouse A lion was napping under a large oak tree when a small mouse scampered across his paw. The lion awoke with a start, his eyes blazing. Lion: A mouse! You tiny creature, you have disturbed my slumber! I could crush you with a single paw! Mouse: (Trembling) Oh, great Lion, please forgive me! I didn't mean to wake you. I promise I won't do it again. Lion: (Chuckling) A mouse like you could never harm me. But I warn you, be more careful in the future. The mouse scurried away, relieved. A few weeks later, the lion was caught in a hunter's net. Lion: (Roaring) Help! I am trapped! The mouse heard the lion's cries and rushed to the scene. Mouse: Don't worry, Lion. I'll free you. The mouse nibbled at the ropes of the net until they were loose enough for the lion to break free. Lion: Thank you, little mouse. I never thought you could repay my kindness. Mouse: (Smiling) You see, even the smallest creature can help the greatest.
