"When I was little, every night when the lights were turned off and I went to sleep, I had the sensation of seeing two shadows descending from the ceiling into the entrance of my room. They walked calmly to my bed and stood on each side of my headboard, watching me. I would feel scared and cover my head with the blanket, hoping they would go away. This situation repeated every night, and I didn't know what to do. Until one day, full of courage, I decided to tell my mother. She, concerned, placed a lamp in my room and told me to pray and ask the shadows to leave. Since then, I started sleeping with the lamp on every night. Despite having the lamp as protection, I still felt uncomfortable with the idea of the shadows. The lit lamp brought me some comfort, but I always had the feeling that they were there, watching. Even today, as an adult, I still sleep with the lamp on, as a way to ward off these childhood memories."
