আহনাফ ইবনু কায়স (রহ.) হতে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, আমি (সিফফীনের যুদ্ধে) এ ব্যক্তিকে [আলী (রাযি.)-কে] সাহায্য করতে যাচিছলাম। আবূ বাকরাহ্ (রাযি.)-এর সঙ্গে আমার দেখা হলে তিনি বললেনঃ ‘তুমি কোথায় যাচ্ছ?’ আমি বললাম, ‘আমি এ ব্যক্তিকে সাহায্য করতে যাচ্ছি।’ তিনি বললেনঃ ‘ফিরে যাও। কারণ আমি আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম -কে বলতে শুনেছি যে, দু’জন মুসলমান তাদের তরবারি নিয়ে মুখোমুখি হলে হত্যাকারী এবং নিহত ব্যক্তি উভয়ে জাহান্নামে যাবে।’ আমি বললাম, ‘হে আল্লাহর রাসূল্! এ হত্যাকারী (তো অপরাধী), কিন্তু নিহত ব্যক্তির কী অপরাধ? তিনি বললেন, (নিশ্চয়ই) সেও তার সাথীকে হত্যা করার জন্য উদগ্রীব ছিল। (সহীহ বুখারী, অধ্যায়ঃ ২, হাদিস নম্বরঃ ৩১
