The film The Weight of Laughter follows the journey of a distressed man in search of meaning, who finds himself trapped in an existence of empty achievements and despair. The story begins with him in a run-down restaurant, where he is alone, wearing a hood, a Joker mask and gloves. In a symbolic scene, he notices a pile of trophies, representing his past victories, and destroys them, trying, in some way, to erase the meaning of these achievements that no longer bring him satisfaction.
